Introducing Dr Hyun.

A University of Melbourne graduate, Dr Hyun Soo Yu completed his Bachelor of Dental Science with honours in 2006. The opening years of his career were spent in Sydney, where a demanding caseload spanning surgical and restorative work sharpened his skills before he made his way back to Melbourne.

He took the helm at Grey Street Dentist in St Kilda in 2012, and now also heads Parkdale's Synergy Dental Group — the pair of practices behind Melbourne Implant Dentist. Every stage of his postgraduate study has been chosen with one discipline in mind: restoring missing teeth to the highest possible standard. Along that path he earned a Master of Science in Implantology, Fellowship of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (FICOI), and postgraduate orthodontic training that shapes complete, whole-smile planning.

Digital accuracy sits at the heart of how Hyun works — digital smile design, guided surgery and CBCT 3D imaging — balanced by a consultation manner that is unrushed and straightforward. The feedback from patients rarely varies: clear explanations, every option laid out, and never any push to go ahead.

Outside the practice, Hyun is a devoted family man, and the steady, measured presence he brings to family life is exactly what his patients experience in the chair.
